About this project
Walker House, a respite house in Woodvale, had two garage doors that needed new openers: a roller door and a sectional door. Our technician fitted a Jaytech motor to each door in a single visit.
On the roller door, a new Jaytech RDO-1800 opener was installed and set up with a manual release cord, so the door can still be opened by hand during a power outage.
While working on the sectional door, our technician found that the lifting cables were worn, with one cable fraying at the end. A frayed cable can snap under load and leave the door hanging unevenly, so a new set of cables was fitted before the Jaytech 1200 V4+ opener went in.
Both openers were programmed and tested, and the new remotes were labelled front and back so staff can tell them apart at a glance. Warranty cards for both motors were left with the remotes.
Two full door services were also included at no charge, so both doors were checked and adjusted while our technician was on site.
This job shows why we look over the whole door, not only the part we came to replace. At a respite house, where staff and visitors rely on the garage every day, picking up the worn cables during the install means both doors are safe and dependable from day one.
