About this project
A homeowner in Scarborough contacted us after their roller door went crooked and would no longer go up or down.
When our technician arrived, one side of the door curtain had come out of its guide track, leaving the door sitting on an angle in the opening. With the curtain jammed, the opener could not move the door in either direction.
Our technician fed the curtain back into the guide, realigned the door so it sat level in the opening, and checked that it ran cleanly through both tracks from top to bottom.
A full door service was then carried out, including a check of the spring tension inside the drum, so the door stays balanced and the opener is not working harder than it should.
The client was quoted a $79 call-out fee upfront, which was waived when they went ahead with the repair.
A door that has come off its track can usually be put right without new parts. Realigning it quickly stops the curtain from creasing or the guides from bending, which would turn a simple repair into a much bigger one.
