Bespoke Realty booked us to attend one of their managed rental properties in Lakelands to look at the double sectional garage door.

On inspection, our technician found the lifting cables had become worn and needed replacing. These cables run from the bottom of the door up to the drums on the torsion bar and carry the full weight of the door, so worn cables are a real safety risk if left in place.

The old cables were removed and new lifting cables were fitted, wound evenly onto both drums and tensioned so the door sat level and lifted square.

A full door service was carried out at the same time, checking the springs, drums, rollers, hinges and tracks, lubricating the moving parts and testing the door with the opener through several full open and close cycles.

For property managers, catching worn parts like cables early keeps rental garage doors safe for tenants and avoids a call-out for a snapped cable later on.
