Torsion Bar Repair and Service in Westminster

A homeowner in Westminster called us after the torsion bar on their double sectional garage door came away from its mounting, leaving the door unable to run properly.

The torsion bar carries the springs that balance the weight of the door, so when it comes loose the door can no longer lift evenly and isn’t safe to operate.

Our technician repaired the door, refitting and securing the torsion bar and spring assembly back in place on its centre bearing bracket so the springs could do their job again.

A full door service was then carried out, checking the springs, cables, drums, rollers and tracks, adjusting the tension and testing the door with the opener through several full open and close cycles.

When a torsion bar or spring assembly comes loose, it’s important to stop using the door and get it repaired properly. Securing it and servicing the door at the same time leaves it balanced, safe and running smoothly again.
