About this project
A homeowner in Beaconsfield called us after their motorised roller door jammed and stopped working. Power was getting through to the opener, but when they tried to operate it the motor would only click without engaging, so the door wouldn’t move.
Our technician inspected the opener and confirmed the existing motor had failed. It was removed and replaced with a new Superlift RDO5 roller door opener, mounted on the drum and set up with its wall-mounted control unit.
The door’s travel limits and force settings were programmed, and the door was tested through several full open and close cycles with the new opener.
A full door service was also carried out free of charge, checking the curtain, guides, drum and spring tension so the door and new motor work smoothly together.
When an opener clicks but won’t engage, the fault is usually inside the motor itself. Replacing it with a new unit got this roller door back in daily use, and the service sticker on the opener shows when its next service is due.
