About this project
A homeowner in Atwell called us about their tilt garage door, which was out of alignment and no longer running safely with its opener.
On inspection, our technician found the opener rail had come loose from its fixing, the door was sitting out of square in the opening, and the J-hook bracket that connects the opener arm to the door was off centre. The door itself also showed wear and damage from years of use.
Our technician refixed the opener rail, realigned the door in its frame and centred the J-hook bracket so the opener pulls the door evenly. The bottom fixing angles were also resecured to the slab with new anchor bolts.
A full door service was included at no charge, and the door was tested through several open and close cycles to make sure it was working and as safe as possible to use.
We were upfront with the homeowners about the condition of the door. While it is now back in working order, we explained the damage we found and that replacing the door is their best long-term option. Being honest about when a repair is only a short-term fix is part of how we look after our customers.
